One of my favorite things we did this year is to tell each other what we are thankful for in each other. Luke was excited for his turn to give thanks and to hear our thanks. He told me he's thankful I know so much and can teach him things. To Mitchell he said he was thankful Mitchell is such a good boy. He's also thankful for how daddy plays with him.
Speaking of Mitchell, we've been a little caught up in various maladies. First he has his 2nd pressure sore, that's the new way of saying bedsore. When you are in a wheelchair and can't move well, they are common, but so important to quickly remedy. With new bed and chair padding, bandages and creams - the sore is healing slowly. In addition to the sore, he has seemed off, but not terribly sick. It took a fever to get him to the doctor where we found out he has pneumonia and a sinus infection. Triple threat going into Thanksgiving, but overall he's been a trouper.
We had a delightful time at Chris' sister's home Thanksgiving morning, then all grandparents were over in the afternoon for dinner. It's fun when all the grandparents are together. All of them were born in 1938 and they told stories about their favorite Thanksgiving day memories. It's a great memory now for us! Grandpa Browning's tale of having to wait until pickled tongue arrived from Aunt Kitty won't be forgotten that's for sure! These aren't the best shots taken from my cell phone, but still wanted to share them...
It was so beautiful out Friday, we went out late in the afternoon for a holiday walk in nearby downtown Milford. Some of our adventure along the streets captured below:
